A brief history of LED...
1988 - Lomeshaye Electrical Distributors established in
Barrowford by Derek Davies, Michael Fay and Jason Brown.
1989 - Kevin Birtwistle joins to establish the second branch, Rossendale Electrical Distributors.
1991 - Keiron Higginson joins the company as a 16 year old YTS.
1992 - Nelson branch moves to purpose built 8000sq ft premises on lomeshaye industrial estate where it remains today as head office.
1993 - LED joins ANEW, the largest buying group for independent electrical wholesalers in the UK.
1996 - David Allen joins to establish Led Controls to specialise in the Automation and Controls market.
1998 - Company name changes to LED Electrical dropping the Lomeshaye and Rossendale Electrical Distributors prefix.
1998-2006 - LED enjoys massive sales growth and spreads it customer base across the north of England.
2007 - Derek Davies retires from the company after almost 20 years at the helm. Derek leaves the company firmly established as one of the norths leading independent electrical wholesalers and in the safe hands of Michael, Jason, Kevin and new director Keiron Higginson.
2008 - Led Rossendale moves premises to a 9000sq ft unit on Carrs Industrial Estate, Haslingden. Led Controls also relocates to the prestigious new Rossendale base.
The future:
Led Electrical today is a company enjoying growth with over 50 employees all dedicated to the further success of the company. Kevin, Jason, Michael and Keiron acknowledge the valued part played by their very loyal staff, some of whom have been with the company since its conception.
The enthusiasm and commitment of its directors and all of the staff at Led Electrical remains the same today, as it was back in 1988, and the company looks forward to new and exciting challenges and growing from strength to strength for many decades to come.
